Through suffering, she found the will to live

Life didn’t come easy for Georgia Papadopoulos, a seamstress from the village of Fichtia in Argolida who emigrated to Australia. Through endless hours of work in factories, workplace accidents, illnesses she overcame, and countless tears for the loved ones she lost, this Greek woman always held her head high. Although she made several attempts to return to Greece, her visits to the country of her origin were always brief. Her true homeland was now elsewhere—where her husband and children lived, in what was once a foreign land—Australia.
