Martha Gianopolitis found her homeland in two continents. In Greece, she experienced the terror of occupation and civil war as a young girl. In Australia, she toiled as a migrant woman, earning her living “armed” with only four English words: “any job for me.” Although the woman from Messinia became a wife and mother in the Fifth Continent, she couldn’t resist pursuing what all expatriates dream of—the longed-for return home.
