The life of Costas Vertzayias, an Australian-born Greek, who dedicated himself wholeheartedly to defending Greek and Cypriot tradition and history, has been full of ups and downs. A lawyer, historian, author, and chairman of committees and councils of brotherhoods fighting for the Greek diaspora in Australia, this son of immigrants defended his compatriots both inside and outside the courtroom. He fought for a homeland he didn’t know as a child, but learned about and loved as an adult, serving its ideals from every position and role he took on throughout his life.
