Irene Savva was just thirteen years old when she left her beloved Kalymnos for a very different island: the distant Fifth Continent, Australia! After losing her father at a young age, she struggled to come to terms with exile alongside her mother, fighting for a better, more dignified life. Once her children had grown, Irene devoted herself wholeheartedly to volunteer work, striving to ease the pain of exile for others – a pain she knew all too well.
