Life didn’t come easy for Theodora Cominos from Kythera. As a young girl, the islander toughened up working in her family’s fields, learning that for a dream to “bear fruit,” the right seeds must first be sown. In Australia, a land “fertile” with opportunities, she found the life she had been searching for. Accepting an invitation from her relatives who were already settled there, Theodora crossed the oceans aboard the “Patris” and eventually arrived at Sydney Harbour. In the Fifth Continent, she worked in restaurants, milk bars, cafés – testing her endurance in over 32 different jobs as she strove to establish herself in her new homeland…
