The life of Kostas Tsourdalakis from the village of Melampes in Rethymno is filled with pain and losses, but also triumphs and joys. Growing up in a time when war was a daily reality for people, Kostas became a shepherd, tending to his family’s flocks in the lush plains of his homeland. However, life had other plans for the Cretan boy… He first emigrated to Germany, before eventually settling in the “Land of Promise” – Australia. There, he underwent a “baptism of fire” in the factories of a continent still “under construction”…
