Born in 1935 in Vouni, Limassol, under British rule in Cyprus, Panagiotis Giannoudis learned the value of hard work and diligence from a young age. Working in cinemas in his homeland, the future pioneer of Greek film screenings in the Antipodes discovered his passion for the seventh art early on. This passion led him from Limassol, Cyprus, to Melbourne, Australia. It transformed him from a ticket seller into a businessman, and from an immigrant into a “Prometheus” who brought the “flame” of Greek cinema to the Greeks of the Fifth Continent.
