The advocate for the return of the marbles to Greece

The descendant of Greek immigrants who launched the international campaign for the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, founding the world’s first committee dedicated to their return to Greece. This tireless figure is Emanuel Comino, who devoted himself body and soul to the multifaceted support of the Greek community in the “far reaches of the Southern Hemisphere.” A relentless campaigner who has travelled the world giving lectures, collaborated with the late Melina Mercouri, and sent dozens of letters to nearly all Australian politicians with one singular request: the repatriation of the marbles.
